Hi!

I’m Tristam.

I’m an experienced designer currently focused on building efficient processes, crafting fantastic UX & UI, and fostering community. I’m deeply passionate about product design, both at a strategic and hands-on level.

I’m a design generalist.

I love getting involved in the whole lifecycle of a product—from talking to customers, writing specifications, wireframing, visual design, prototyping and testing to marketing campaigns.

Over five years work experience with international teams has made me a thoughtful communicator and an efficient contributor. I bring a range of experience designing both software and physical products, collaboration, teaching and management, both in-house, as a freelancer, and as a consultant.

I’m an active participant in the tech community, organising and hosting the UXAC-Usability Meetup Aachen, as well as speaking on different topics relating to design, technology and collaboration. Our work organising meetups for the usability community in the region has brought hundreds of people together, setting a new framework for inclusive, high-quality events in Aachen.

I studied Industrial Design in Essen and Munich, with a focus on experience design, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. This experience pushed me to pursue a career in tech, focusing on understanding how technology impacts us and we can use it to live better, more sustainable lives.

My work is driven by my values—quality, integrity, inclusion, and a people-first approach. I focus on the impact and ethics of my work; trying to make the world a better place than I found it.

When I’m not working, I can be found riding one of my bikes, enjoying a great coffee, or cooking for friends and family. I live in Aachen, Germany and get back home to Nelson, New Zealand as often as possible.
